Well, it sounded as if you might be delusional, but it actually could be caused by Lingual Nerve Damage. Also, if you drink chlorinated water you could have ultra-sensitive taste buds and find the taste too metallic.
Before going to a doctor, I would start using filtered water or bottled, spring water for a couple of weeks. If that doesn't help, see an eye/nose/throat specialist. Taste should be a pleasurable part of life.
