Purification methods of chinese and hindu mystics??
Question: Does anyone know the where I can find more information on the body purification processes used by these people. Perferably a step by step guide.
Answers: All spiritual people including our ancestors cleansed regularly usually by fasting . Try reading the Essenne gospels in which Jesus describes his process of fasting until clean.
A modern day 10-14 day juice fast together with twice daily water or coffee enema will achieve the same thing. The process can be supported with herbs - check out Cleanse and purify thyself by john Anderson.
I've done a few fasts and providing you are not completely toxic they are very straightforward. After a day your appetite goes away which is helpful!
You will feel nauseous a bit like when you start to get the flu - don't worry it's just the toxins coming out.
Sorry I don't know about the chinese or hindus specifically they will no doubt include meditation and rest which is needed.
If you go through with this be prepared for enhanced awareness! Not always a good thing in our western societies!
Good luck
Wow they are both two HUGE subjects. Firstly you will have to decide whether you would like to look at Auvedic or Traditional Chinese Medicine. Do you want to purify your mind, body, spirit, emotions or even your home or work place. If it is your body, do you want to cleanse your bowel, kidney, skin? If you like, you may need to refine your question a little to get further help. Good luck
Only an overview is possible here.
In Ayurveda treatment consists of medicine, detoxification ( panchakarma ), diet, spiritual awareness and lifestyle suggestions to restore balance to the doshas. The four pillars of treatment include a highly skilled physician, a trained nurse, patient compliance and high quality medicine. Medicine is a combination of plants, minerals and animal based preparations and are presented in several forms. Expressed fresh juice, paste for internal use, decoction, powder, tablets or pills, fermented preparation, semi-solid preparation made with jaggary (type of sugar), plants that are boiled in oil ( Taila ), herbs that are boiled in Ghee ( Ghrta ), paste for external use and calcined herbs. Detoxification as a process is an accepted concept in western herbal medicine; in Ayurveda, detoxification (panchakarma) is used for chronic illnesses or when fast relief is required.
In TCM, your surroundings and your behaviour is also taken into account including balancing the five elemnts in your body. Your constitution is the most important aspect in both Ayurveda and TCM. In TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) your basic constitution is based on the five elements (fire, earth, water, metal and wood), the Ko and Shen cycles have to be in a functioning state of balance. They also include acupuncture or acupressure and may use Reiki. The purification processes are too detailed to explain and only a trained proffesional can give you the best advice.
