Maybe Dr. Sam may know.... I had a root canal and I still??

Question: had deep pain afterwoods.. Then I had surgery where the dentist went in and snipped the root.... That deep pain is gone but now I have burning around that same tooth.... Any suggestions besides salt water?
Answers: Hmmmmm........I had pain after a root canal and it turned out the problem was in an adjacent tooth, so I ended up having 2 root canals back to back -- the first one was unnecessary. Maybe you have a similar problem?
Sorry to make you wait. (haha) I just answered your previous question.
Perhaps you have a DRY SOCKET.

the procedure may have physically disturbed your nerve, causing something called neuralgias, which are basically burning/stabbing pains. it's nothing that your dentist did wrong, it's just one of the possible complications inherent in an apicoectomy. these tend to resolve on their own over time, but sometimes can last forever. for reasons still unknown, taking a b-complex vitamin tends to help relieve symptoms and aid in recovery. if it does not resolve within a few weeks, you should seek out a neurologist to discuss possible treatment options.
