How quickly do teeth move??
Question: i am due to get invisalign braces in january, february at the latest, 2008. i have 4 wisdom teeth that have come through (well 2 are impacted) and since i've noticed them, my other teeth have realy begun to ache like they are moving (have noticed quite a change in last 6 months - year)....between now and feb, could there be NOTICEABLE movement? i don't want them getting any worst before the braces! they are bad enough as it is haha
Answers: Yes, there could be very noticable movement. I would have your wisdom teeth taken out ASAP. Especially if your teeth are impacted, like all 4 of my wisdom teeth were.
Teeth can start to move in as little as 6 hours so you will see a difference in the last 6 months. You should have your wisdom teeth taken out before you get your braces because when your wisdom teeth start to come in they will cause your other teeth to shift and move. Most people do not have a large enough jaw to support them. They are also so far back that it is hard to keep them as clean as you should so it makes it easier for them to get infected. Get them out now so when you get your braces off you will not have to worry about them moving your teeth after they are pretty and straight.
I had my four 6's taken out before i got braces in.
When I got mine it was the getting the teeth ot bit that delayed getting my brace. If you go to the orthdontist in february and your wisdom teeth aren't out you'll have to get them out before a brace can be put on so if you have to get the teeth out get them out now.
Hope this helps.
I was told i needed braces about 8 yrs ago by an orthodontist but i was always getting headaches and had trouble with my jaw...this was due to impacted wisdom teeth which werent even surfacing. I skipped braces and organised for all four wisdoms out first as once they begin to come thru they can move teeth rapidly.
They can move noticibly in only a few hours. It just depends on how used to moving around they are.
depends how cheeky you are in a Glasgow bar, lol
i know its got nawt to do with ya question but that answer popped in my head before i read the additional details
