Whats wrong or bad about braces??
Question: like everyone says eww braces, but what are the downs about them

Answers: The disadvantages about getting braces are:
- They hurt for a few days after you get them tightened
-You can barely eat anything for those few days
-They take forever to clean
-They make the inside of your mouth hurt
-You talk funny for a few days
-You can't eat certain foods like hard/chewy/sugary foods
-You can't chew gum
-You have to be carefull you don't break the brackets
-You may have to wear rubberbands in addition to braces
-Rubberbands really suck
-People can see metal in your mouth (embarassing)
-You have to clean your teeth extra well while you have braces
-You have to get them tightened every month
-They are very expensive (between $4000 and $5000)
-Treatment isn't over when the braces come off
-You feel very self concious about your appearance
Are those enough reasons?
They move your teeth into proper allignment. That is the only good thing. Believe it or not even though I said all of those negative things about getting braces I am very glad that I got braces. My teeth look amazing now. It was all worth it. Now I have retainers. I can barely feel them. Retainers are a hell of a lot better than braces. That is for sure.
Well, its a matter of personal opinion, I guess it sort of makes your mouth look bulky and some view them as unsightly. People use terms such as metal mouth etc. because obviously, you have a load of metal in your mouth.
I personally think they look alright, thats probably because I've never had to have them though.
My sister however, currently has braces and she's always complaining about them cutting into her cheek.
Also, if you're not careful or hygiene-friendly (like not brushing your teeth at least twice a day) you can end up walking around with food stuck in them or something. Gross! :)
They stretch your mouth out really far and it hurts for a day or so after they tighten them. The outcome is usually awesome but the year(s) upto that point stinks.
They arent jewlery...over time the straighten out your teeth and thats good.
but the thing is they are very annoying. when you first get them your whole mouth will ache for a few days, even a week, because of the pressure being applied. and then the day you get them tightened (every 6 weeks for me) they ache a bit. also it is harder and more tedious to keep them clean than if you didnt have them. a lot of foods get stuck between the wire and your teeth and it is pretty disgusting if you dont clean that out after each meal or snack.

I can't remember feeling happier about my appearance when I got my braces off for good. 2 or 3 years of being a metal mouth is worth it in the end when you have a beautiful, white smile :D ! Disadvantages of braces are that they're uncomfortable after you get them tightened, and they're oftentimes awkward if you wear rubberbands and have to take them out to eat. Also there are food restrictions with braces (like no eating popcorn or caramel) that are annoying. But its so worth it!
depends how bad you want your teeth fixed. I'd say they are good if your teeth are horribly crooked. seems most kids now a days want them no matter what. the only thing I think is bad about them is the COST!!!!!!!!
Theres nothing wrong with braces.Your mouth will be beautiful afterwards.What girl wants to kiss a beat up grill.Rather than some temperary silver,till the day of glory;Pearley whites that are intact.There aint nothing better than a beautiful smile,that should turn everyone on.A smile; thats the first thing you see when you speak to someone!I love a beautiful smile over a nice butt and a six pack any day....
They just make fun of the person beacause they are jealous! Braces are awesome! If someone insults you about braces dont listion to them, because their just jealous! Braces make you have a better smile and make you teeth staighter. But later the dentist takes them off and your teeth are beautifull!
