Are regular weight scales accurate????

Question: i use a regualr weight scales with those manual dials and i wanna know if they are accurate cuz i went to the doctor and weighed n at 225 and when i use the scale at home it says 285...
Answers: No.

The usual bathroom scale is a spring connected to a dial, and as springs age, they lose their springiness. That's why your old weakened spring is showing 60 pounds more than your doctor's balance.

You can get balance scales like the doctors. They have beams that are about waist-high, usually with bubble levels; I find these a bit hard to read. You can get one just like the doctors, but be prepared to spend $200-300. I had one when I was married; paid $200 at a discount store.
