Are manual treadmills just as effective as the computerised ones??

Question: I can't afford to buy a fancy treadmill with incline and computer programs. Is it a waste of money to buy a cheap manual treadmill or will I still lose weight anyway?
Answers: The main disadvantage of a manual treadmill is that you always have to hold onto the rails. Because of that, you burn fewer calories and you are limited to walking. But if you will use the manual treadmill, you will burn calories and if you combine that with healthy eating, you should lose weight.

You might also consider a used electric treadmill, if you can find one. Check classified ads or garage sales or used sporting goods stores. Many people buy equipment and then don't use it, so they sell it for a fraction of the price.
Hello Mr Stinky Sock (so cute!!!) I think the whole point is to raise your heart beat and burn calories so it doesn't matter how fancy the treadmill is - as long as it gets the job done. or save your money and walk / jog outside - I find that a lot less boring than a treadmill.
