Is a manual treadmill any good. does it work. has any one had any experience with it??
Answers: Hi Bidia! Coming from experience, don't waste your time with manual treadmills. They're not worth it... Before I married my wife she had a manual treadmill. It was used as a coat rack and I wondered why. I tried using it one day and found it hard to turn the belt at first, but I did get it going. After about a minute the belt stuck and abruptly stopped, causing me to fall off of the unit. It was a well known brand that I won't mention. What a rude awakening!
I own a fitness equipment company and you'll never find manual treadmills on our site due to the above experience. Manual treadmills are what most people call disposable fitness equipment . We have customers that love our motorized Horizon and Endurance treadmills. Horizon for their quality & lower prices and Endurance for their lifetime warranties.
You're welcome to check out our treadmills at http://www.A2ZFit.com/treadmls.htm and let us know if you have any questions. Please note that we're in the process of adding the new 2007 Endurance treadmills to our site and they should be listed within the next few weeks. We wish you success in your fitness goals!
Yep dint rate it much
they all suck. Don't waste your $
I know 4 different people who have them, they stand in the corner and never get used. Whoops, I'm wrong about that, they have their guests hang their coats on them. Sorry.
Consider going outside into the open instead, nobody is watching you, do it under the cover of darkness if you like. The road (providing you're not a car) is free to travel on, spend £40 on a nice coat instead to keep you warm, it'll be far more beneficial.
I've heard from nobody that they're worth their money, most seem to think they're useless, even cough up the cash for an expensive one or go outside.
Why bother ? Get a pedometer instead (electronic one, not the pendulum things which are no good) put on some music and dance until you have the required number of steps. Cheaper, takes up far less space and more fun. Go to

Get some science geek to hook it up to something so you can multitask with it. OTherwise why not just run outside.
I never had a treadmill I just go to the sink counter and pretend I am on a treadmill
Sorry but most people I know spend too much money on these things, and in the end they are cloths hangers in remote rooms in the house (95% of the people!). Take a course which commits yourself to getting up and actually doing exercises each week, and with people.
If you want a good treadmill then you can't skimp on the cost. Cheap treadmills break down after only a year or so - I know cause I have had one before. Manual treadmills are usually cheap. Why bother? Spend a couple thousand on a nice treadmill. Better yet, use the ones at the health club. If you can't afford either of these options just jog outside in your city's park.
I have an electric treadmill i bought it of ebay for £50 and collected it, just look for one in your area to collect for cheapness, I use mine all the time its really good.
I would say that it's more of a workout...because you have to try harder to get it working and to maintain your speed.
But it's also a lot harder to use; I would go with an electric one myself.
