Question: what are the gift giving rules for the first date. I got her this pendant not sure if i should giev it to her on the first date or wait until the second one.
Answers: yikes!...... good gosh guy!.... if you give her anything it will seem like you need to give her something to like you.... save the fgifts... dont set a precident of you doing all the giving.
rule number one...... trying to attract/impress someone is one of the most unattractive/unimpressive things you can do.
My suggestion get there a few minutes late, dress nicely but not overboard, if you go somewhere, dont assume the responcability to pay....go ahead and pay, but accept her offer to leave the tip..
If you NEED to give her something give her something really casual..... like a flower you picked on the way.

Way too early. Obviously you are into this girl if you want to give a gift to her. But, if you have feelings you would do well to learn that believe it or not women are actually turned off by too much too fast. All women are showered with gifts and compliments, and that is why the Jerks ALWAYS get the babe. It sucks.But, save the gift AND save telling her your feelings for atleast 5 dates in. Don;t be too giving. I am in a situation that is much larger and further advanced right now, and still walking the fine line between being a challenge, and being a wimp. Women Like gifts, they are not attracted to the gift giver.

Normaly i wouldn't give a girl anything on the first date. I'd wait until the anniversary of that first date. It would be a good idea to get her something if you have been seeing her for awhile but this is your first actual date. A pendent is a nice gift. I give friends necklaces on their birthdays so that should be more than ok.
