Can a person be depressed and also suffer from ADHD??

Question: I've been taking lexapro for 2 years, and I feel better. However, I find myself scatter brained, full of strange outburst of energy that quickly goes away as fast as it set in. In most cases when that energy hits, I can't concentrate on what I'm doing and I can not stop moving around. My feet are always moving, and I never keep my hands still. I start projects and I never finish them because I do get distracted. I noticed these symptoms were much worse while on lexapro, but I hate to stop using it, cuz it does work for my depression and anxiety. Does anyone have any good tips for me?
Answers: Hi yes you can have more then one disorder/mental health illness at the same time. take a look on the link below read through the disorders and if you think you may have something more going on see a doctor. I have bipolar, borderline personality disorder and more labels then I have letters in all my name.
yep! i have adhd and have suffered depression for years. and i steer clear of medicines!
If it's worse while on lexapro, talk to your doctor. There are all kinds of anti-depressant and anxiety meds out there. Could be to that the lexapro is causing symptoms of ADHD and will stop once you go off the medicine. Could be you have both though. Please talk to your doctor.
