Effexor Xr users??

Question: I take 225mg of Efexxor Xr and have been on it for like 5 months but now i'm feeling depressed again and crying all the time. Does it's effectiveness wear off quickly? What depression medication works well for you? Did you have alot of side effects on Efexxor?
Answers: I think maybe the placebo effect of it has worn off for you. These meds should go along with therepy so the underlying problem can actually be dealt with and you don't need to depend on meds for the rest of your life. I currently just switched to Efexxor from Lexapro because of side effects. I am still very tired all the time.
IIm on the same amount as Effexxor as you, I want to come off it makes me feel like I have no emotions & also still feel depressed & has side effects to your sex life. Also have very bad side effects if am late taking my medication
I'd get off the buggers, I couldn't stand any of those and I've tried them all. I suggest trying some cognitive behavioural therapy, which works brilliantly with the effexor and then coming off of them.

All of those tablets act as a bandaid for the underlying problem, as soon as you stop, the problem will still be there, you have to head for the source of it. I felt numb on effexor, blah.

Good luck with it and smile :) Hope you work it out
If it's not working anymore definitely talk to your doctor and get something that will work, here are some suggestions to research:

Prozac
Paxil
Zoloft
Luvox
Celexa
Lexapro
Wellbutrin
Buspar
Remeron
Desyrel
Serzone
Cymbalta
I take Effexor XR 75 mg, and I have been on this over a year. I did not have these side effects. To me it sounds like you need to go back and get your medication changed. When a medication does not work for you, it has these similar effects. I take mine for mood swings and do not have any problems. Talk with your dr.
I was on it for about 2 months and i was so angry for no reason, I would want to hurt people and then i would break down and cry and feel so guilty for thinking that way. I went to my Dr and he switched me to Wellbuterin and they are great, I don't feel tired, I don't get angry and I am happy, really happy.
it worked for me for about 6 months during which i lost 50 pounds because it left me no appetite had to change to a drug called celexa
I take 375 mg, I think it's remained effective the entire time but I take it in combination with other medicines. But sometimes the body gets used to one kind of medication and the depression finds a way back in and you need to switch, it's not unheard of at all. I also didn't experience much in the way of side effects with Effexor, night sweats were about the worst I ever got from it.
