What is wrong with me??
Question: Can anyone help me out with this? I always feel like I am in a daze- like I'm sleep-walking. I get very over-stimulated by just walking into say, a store. I think constantly about everything; like the state of thinking, the power of belief; enough to drive me mad. I loose focus very quickly. Sometimes I block out people talking to me. I take things really literally and have about no common sense. I'm very awkward in social situations. If you have any idea of what disorder I might have, please tell me.
Answers: This is only a guess, since I have little information to go on, but take a look at this information about Asperger's Syndrome (AS): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_sy...
AS comprises a variety of symptoms, including difficulties socializing, difficulties communicating (and understanding communication), and attention problems, among other things. It has aspects similar to ADHD, but there's more involved than just impairment of focus.
There is treatment for AS, which consists of cognitive-behavioral therapies, and sometimes medication, if it will help anxiety or depression. Best wishes getting all the help you want.
You sound just like me! I was recently diagnosed with Attnention Deficit and Anxiety disorders. Sounds like your problems are mostly ADD. Talk to your doctor about these problems or set up an appointment with a psychologist.
Good luck to us both!
You might be bi-polar, or schizophrenic. You should talk to your doctor. They might be able to diagnose you, or recommend a specialist who can.
you sound like me.... heh i dont know either! ADHD should be it! I refuse to think that i have it because i believe its a fake disorder... but its treatable. so im gonna go back to my lala land. good luck!
I took a test, i have a pretty serious going!
You need to make an appt. to speak to a psychiatrist. It could be something as simple as ADHD or social anxiety or it could be more complex. Only a Dr. can tell you.
this sounds a lot like generalized anxiety disorder. the feelings of disrealization, problems in social settings, worring over things that don't really matter, taking things to heart. i know this because this is what i have, i take klonopin and effexor and that helps. i also do talk therapy that helps me a lot. i would recommend talking to a psychiatrist and maybe seeing a therapist and they can help you with these issues. and you are not going crazy it just makes you feel that way. hope that this helps
I don´t really know if you have a disorder, go see a doctor. Maybe you´re just over stimulated by your environment and you don´t handle it very well. Why don´t you try any relaxation technique or Yoga. Try some cardio exercise as well. This might help.
It sounds like you have not just one disorder but many. First of all the being overwhelmed in a store and feeling very awkward in social situations sounds to me like you may have Social Anxiety Disorder. I have this myself, if you get into that kind of setting does your heart start racing, your breathing come heavy and do you feel the need to get out of there right away. If you do then you have S.A. If not you may just have Anxiety, I also have Anxiety and it feels like your mind cannot stop thinking about, things in the past, what if's and you feel like you're going mad like you described. You could also have bi-polar, my gf has this and you have symptoms that also point towards that. To give you any more of a real pin pointed answer you'd have to describe more of what happens in these situations. I hope this helped, for the most part since no real diagnosis can be made from the little detail you left in your question. If you want to send me a message to further discribe what you feel I can be found here. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/windowinto...
You have a step one of coping with life disorder .....now all you have to do is put priorities in order , stay focused on confusion , run a round like a chicken with it's head cut off , go home , eat quickly , take a short nap , get up , go crazy again , and you have the symptom known as a normal life..
As far as no common sense , this is normal for those who retain a lot of book knowledge , I know brain surgeons who can not change a bulb in the tail lights of their own cars ...
I Have the same problems...It drives me absolutly crazyyyy!!! I feel for you.
If you ever get the chance to get into a bookstore that carries it, check out the DSM-IV-TR and look up the many disorders that have similar symptoms. Its best to seek professional input and opinions when dealing with these issues. Talk with your doctor about referrals to a psychologist/psychiatrist so that your specific needs can be met correctly. Good Luck
I can really relate to what you're describing! It's good to know you're not alone. Do you're thoughts race? Are you uncomfortable a lot when going to the store? I would attribute what you've described as anxiety, perhaps an anxiety disorder. There are manys meds out there that help calm/relieve anxiety. I have not been officially diagnosed myself, but I am 99.9% sure I suffer from anxiety as well. However, when I drink or get high (though I'm not encouraging these things at all!) my anxiety level is DRAMATICALLY decreased and I have no more of the racing thoughts, tuning people out, or feeling like a zombie . I actually feel good, i'm relaxed, and I enjoy myself. Perhaps prescription meds can work for you.
Good Luck and just remember that many people know what you're going through. :)
