Question: i think it is kind of weird that the people that are born gifted and talanted think they are all that their born with it!!! the people who are smart and study should be the ones bragged on!!!
Answers: Yah its sometimes irritating. However, ppl who are gifted are always very proud and most of them have LOW EQ! Like they kept saying how gd they are. They didnt spare a thought for those normal ppl around them.
Studying does not make you smart. It makes you knowledgeable. What matters is what you do with the knowledge you learn and that ability is inborn. Sounds like you have some personal resentment going on there.

but I'm glad that people with natural talent are encouraged because with that talent and study etc. they will be be putting that talent to greater use.

I cannot tell you how the misinterpretation of natural talents to the learned talents has been so misguided! Many people gush over those people who are mainly actors or actresses who spout how good they are at their talents when to me they are no better than the rest of us who, dare I say, just average. I am a self taught pen and ink artist, have been for over 30 years yet when people heap praise upon me I shudder at that very praise! I am not in for the glory of becoming well known or famous , which many people espouse to these days. Look at the recent death of Anna Nicole Smith! What talent did she have? She was famous for being famous! How ridiculous is that!
My spouse is an Air Force Physical Therapist. She has been in for almost 13 years. She has gotten her Masters, and will soon be finishing up her Ph.d in hospital administration. Is she on the fast track for promotions? No! Does she brown nose all the command level officers? No!
She does all her study and hard work, patient care and responsibilities under the radar and is not a brown noser like many of the new people in the military who are coming to fill the ranks. We dote on all the look at me people instead of focusing on those who have earned the right to have the talent and foresight by studying hard and using their brain power instead of their showiness power. Just look at the state of TV today when all the reality shows are not real reality! Don't you see these people are ACTING for the camera! LOOK AT ME is at work once again.
Give me a paleontologist, history teacher, handicapped painter or the like over a celebrity anyday! The ones who are silent should be the ones who are looked on as the most talented.
