Why do my contacts get blurry after wearing them??

Question: I've worn glasses for years and I just got new soft contacts and am wearing the trial pair for a week. When it's in, it's fine but after like 1 or 2 hours they get blurry. Sometimes both eyes and sometimes just one eye. I use Alcon no-rub solution and I rewet them with blink-n-clean but it doesn't help. I have astigmatism so that may be the case, I don't know. Do you think it would be better for me to wear RGP contacts and maybe it won't get blurry compared to soft lenses?
Answers: There is a very good chance that your symptoms are related to dryness. After wearing the lens for a while some patients develop a tear deficit. This means that you don't have enough tears to fully hydrate the contact lens and also lubricate the tissues of the eye. When the lens becomes dehydrated it can do two things -- 1) become optically less clear and 2) affect the fit and rotation of a lens if it has astigmatism. So my bet is on dryness. Here are your options. 1) try a different brand. Sometimes different brands hydrate differently on different patients 2) use supplemental tears. This can work well but requires ongoing regular instillation of drops and you need to start using them BEFORE your lenses get blurry. 3) try punctal plugs. Your doctor can insert plugs in the puncta (tear drainage portals) in you eyelids and thereby decrease the amount of tears you lose through drainage.

Of course RGP lenses do not require nearly as much fluid to function well. In fact they absorb very little tear quantity at all. BUT, RGP lenses tend to be not as comfortable to wear.
well it is prob the astigmatism because they cause the eye to change shape and the conact wont fit right
Blurness might be because that either is the astigmatism or maybe the eyes is not suitable to the lenses material. Do check with ur eye doc for more better advice. Or maybe the solution is not suitable for the lenses thus the blurness
