The doctor knows my eye prescription but wont give it to me untill I see a Optometrist??

Question: This doesnt make sense. I had a eye test, the doctor has my prescription but he told me I need to see an Optometrist.
Answers: you need to at least see an optometrist because generally your primary care doctor knows say if your vision is 20/20 or 20/30 or whatever it may be that is not knowing what an eyeglasses prescription is. there are specific measurements that an eye doctor needs to do in order to write an eyeglass Rx.
What can the Optometrist do without the prescription? Your Dr isn't being reasonable. The Optometrist can't just wing it !
Your general physician cannot give you an accurate eye prescription as he simply does not have the equipment to do it. There are many things involved with the measurement of the curvature of you optic lens .. and so forth.
See an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Your vision is too important to play around with.
Because an MD cannot prescribe glasses. It requires an Ophthalmologist or an Optometrist.
Maybe he's worried it's a liability since he's not an optometrist? It can't hurt to get an eye exam from your optometrist, though.
Even if he knows your prescription, he might need to make sure it is as up to date as possible
so just go see one y u making it difficult
he is 100% correct
go check out ya optemetrist
You had an eye test by a doctor that is not an Optometrist? I wonder why. Probably legally they're not allowed because that is not their field.
He may suspect that you have eye problems that only an optometrist can look into. It is worth it if that is the case.
Ur physician cant prescribe you contacts.... you have to see an optometrist.... cuz if you're doctor is wrong, its his ***!!!!!!
if you have insurance its no big deal, but
they play the cover your **** game well, dont they?
Tell him that you intend to get your glasses when you move to Patagonia. That the Optomitrist, Ybarra Rojas, does not have an address and it takes 3 months by Sled Dog.
You should have access to all of your medical information. If he has your prescription on file you can request a copy.
