Where can I find colored-contacts for COSMETIC PURPOSES online??
Question: I have normal eyes, but I'd like to try out colored contacts. I have naturally blue/grey eyes and I'd like opaque, brown ones. Any ideas? Thanks.
Answers: You need to go to an eye doctor and have an exam. Regardless of whether you need vision correction or not, he/she will have to write you a prescription for the colored contacts. Your eyes also need to be measured, because pupil size does vary. If they are the wrong size, any number of things can happen...scratched corneas, eye infections, etc. And with colored contacts, if they are too big or too small the colored part of the contact won't cover your eye correctly and will cause it to look very fake.
It is illegal to sell contacts to someone without a prescription, and there is no telling where those companies that do are getting the contacts, or how safe they are. An eye exam with contact lens fitting will only cost you around $91 at a Wal-Mart Vision Center. Don't play with your vision; get an eye exam and do it the safe way! We only get one pair of eyes...
Consult your doctor
All contact lenses are medical devices under federal law. According to both state law and federal law, a buyer must have a prescription from an optometrist or ophthalmologist to purchase contact lenses (federal and state law allow contact lens sellers to contact the doctor to obtain a copy of the prescription).
