Eye problem.??

Question: Ever since last summer my left eye has had these black dots everywhere I looked. I though it went away but recently (like 2 months ago) they came back. There soo annoying and the best I can do is not notice them. Also, my sometimes my eye makes a poping sound. You know how a porcilain doll, when you open and close its eyes it make a clicking noise, thats exactly how it sounds, its destracting and erritating (sorry I can't spell) I tried eyedrops and that did nothing. Could someone tell me what this is? & why?
Answers: Okay you probably should go and see an eye doctor but this is what I think he or she will tell you:
The black dots you are describing are more than likely things called floaters. Have you ever seen on Fear Factor when they eat the cow eyes and juice comes out? That's called vitreous fluid. Basically eye jelly. Now in everyone's vitreous fluid we have things called rods and cones. They help us see colors and shapes and help define our vision.
Sometimes the rods and cones die. And sometimes when they die they pack into a little clustered groups. Now most of the time they will be away from your line of vision but every now and then they will float back into your line of vision. It's probably feels like you are catching a glimpse of a tiny black bug and if you shoot your eye in the direction to try and see it, it goes away. Floaters. Retinal tear symptoms typically don't come and go.
You can't fix them, sorry but they are there to stay.
You doctor may also tell you that the clicking sound you may occasionally hear is secondary to you having dry eyes. Pick up an eyedrop at the store called Optive. See if that helps the clicking.
...You DEFINATELY need an eye doctor to tell you about this and have you checked. Anyone on here to diagnose you can make a big mistake.
go have your eyes checked. it might be serious
These questions should be directed at a professional. You need to either see an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Black spots can be as simple as floaters and as detrimental as a retinal tear or worse. You will only know for sure when a professional dilates your eyes and takes a look at your retina. Don't take chances when it comes to your vision.
The black dots you see are clumps of colligan and protein that are created from the seperation of the gel in your eye from the retina. They are called floaters. They occur naturally in people around the age of 55. However, if you are near-sighted, they will appear sooner. Most people don't ever see them. Some people will see these after injuries. Either way they should be checked out by a retina specialist because sometimes, they are signs of a retinal tear, which can lead to a retinal detachment. Retinal detchments can only be repaired invasively, so it is always important to get checked out withing two weeks. If you notice flashing lights in your vision at night, get checked out withing two days. The presence of flashes and floaters means you have a ten percent chance of a retinal tear. A retinal tear can vary in its chances of turning into a retinal detachment. The worse retinal tear has a thirty percent chance. That's high. Get checked.
The popping noise you here is dry eyes. If your eyes don't bother you, then do nothing. If they are irritated, go by an over-the-counter eye drop called systane. Put it in you eye whenever it gets irritated. General ophthalmologist will help you with this problem, but mosts retinal specialists will not. Good luck sucka.
