With New Glasses...HELP??
Question: Why is it that whenever I get new glasses or go for a few days wtihout them, it takes at least a day to be comfortable in reading and doing other close up things with them??
I am 18 years old and I dont think I should be having this problem... after a day or two it is fine and I can focus close-up and far away with them pretty well
its just really annoying because my prescription is considered low and I don't like to wear my glasses all the time and go for days without them sometimes
Whats happeneing here and why do my eyes have to struggle at first like this?
thanks, please no answers like get contacts or something, im being absolutely sincere here
Answers: I got new glasses on Monday and I know what you mean, The eye doctor I went to told me it is called the fish bowl effect. My problem is some things seem closer and some things seem further away. But it's completely normal
What you're describing is normal. It takes some time for your eyes to adjust to a new prescription and if you go for days without wearing, then your eyes have to keep readjusting each time you put the glasses on.
there is always a period of brake in,and by not wearing your glasses for you ex that all over again, also your perciption may not be just right
sounds like because the perscription is helping the eyes do not like to have to work without them. were the prescribed for reading only? mabe you should talk to the dr. who did the eye exaime?mabe he will explain it so you understand or so you can ask him what to do so you won't have to rely on them but chances are you have 2 options wear them as perscribed or do eye exercises like bates eye exercises to correct the weak muscles in the eyes to naturally correct eyesight without glasses i wear glasses so i know what you mean hope this helps
