I can hear my heartbeat??

Question: Is that normal? When i lie down i can her it. Sometimes its fast even though i feel fine other times its slow..does everyone hear theirs?
Answers: If this is a new experience then it is described as palpitations(awareness of heartbeat). It is normal to be aware of your heart beating after exercise or when you are excited...sometimes when you lie down too. Sometimes heart disease or other conditions can present in this way.The best thing is to see your doctor and they can do a physical, a heart rhythm strip (EKG/ECG) and maybe a heart ultrasound (ECHO). They may check your thyroid function too.
Good. That means you are alive.
Yes but not at rest.
That means you have a beating heart, along with every other functioning human being. I would say that is very normal.
The time to start worrying is when you CAN'T hear it!!
Seems Normal too me. The same thing happens too me. YOUR ALIVE! =]
it is normal as all others have said, but you should ask your Dr. because it might be something wrong if it is too loud as you said, once a friend told me something like this and she has high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
yes i think its normal...whenever i got to bed i have to switch sides when its too loud!! lol but its louder when i workout b4 i go to bed!!
I can hear mine, it is a good thing if you can't hear it your in trouble.
Yes it sounds pretty normal to me! Especially if you lie down...:)
Hi don't worry - this sounds perfectly normal. If you are ever worried about this, pop along to your GP and he can listen to your heart and check your blood pressure - takes about three minutes!!
