Vitamin Quality??
Question: Hey I'm taking Centurm Multivitamin. Someone mentioned on here that it's a waste of money b/c it doesn't dissolve properly. Is this true? I would figure they would know what they are are doing, they have been around for awhile and are quite popular.
I also remember taking Women's Mega (I had some sample packs) from GNC and I noticed that I just felt good, like more energy and felt well. I don't really get this from Centrum. Was it most likely all in my head, or just a coincidence? I wasn't expecting them to make me feel good, but perhaps something else was going on with my body at that time.
So yeah, does anyone know? It would be cool if anyone has a medical background/source of some sort. It just seems to me that a lot of vitamin info online is up there to promote somebody's particular brand (skewed).
Answers: It is very easy to test whether Centrum will disolve ... just take a pill and drop it in a glass of water and see whether it dissolves or not. A good vitamin pill should dissolve in less than ten minutes. If your pill is still solid in the bottom of the glass after 20 minutes or so, it probably going to have some trouble dissolving in your system.
Most of the vitamin info is indeed out there to sell something. There are a few sites that rate various health products (including I am sure multivitamins) that don't sell anything. Take a look at http://www.nutritionaltree.com for example, they collect user reviews but it is not a commercial site.
