Is it normal for my unborn baby's heartbeat to drop to 80bpm for short amounts of time..I'm 21 weeks pregnant.?
Question: Usually at 140-160 bpm but for approx 30 seconds dropped to 83bpm before going back to its normal rhythm
Answers: Yes, its normal. I am a mother of two, and also a worry wart. What my Doctor told me was that the baby moves constantly, and when they do they can step on the cord, lay on it, or even grab it as they develop and get stronger. As long as it doesn't last for over a minute or twp, I would say your OK. The blood and oxygen flow through the umbilical cord, keeping your child alive. I would double check with your Doctor if the problem continues, the cord may be wrapped around the babies neck, arm, or leg. They really can't do anything while your pregnant, but you may have to have a c-section if that is the problem. Good Luck, and don't worry so much. Must be your first? Enjoy your pregnancy and good luck!
Hello, i will advice you see your physician. He is in a better position to tell you what is happening. God is in control so take care, take things easy, rest and dont get yourself worried.
I think your should better talk to your obstetrician about it. It is okey for the baby's heart beat to drop about 100-120beats per minute in less than 15 seconds and go back to normal, especially if you feel false contractions. Dropping to 80bpm is quite too low and may signal that the baby is not well tolerating stress and may affect the infant during labor and delivery.
Could be sleep patterns causing lower heartbeats. Check with your doctor if you're unsure.
No this is not normal if it happins often. If this is happining you need close monitering to make sure things are ok. However at 21 weeks it is early days and nothing can be done at this stage, it is even rare to know this so earrly on in pregnancy. The best indication is if your baby is moving then everything is fine
Why are you asking this question here instead of at your obstetrician's surgery?
An infants heartrate is usually high (anywhere between 120bpm and 150bpm). Your unborn infant may have an irregualr heartbeat or a murmer. There are many heart conditions out there. The best detection is an early detection. Go to a medical treatment center asap. The obstetrician should be able to help you with everything you need.
dear Don't Put the question to this form. You will get confuse. Your Doctor is the Best Advicer at this stage. Nothing will happen.. keep cool. God will help all the moments.
