Is it "un-cool" to use........"??
Question: I use pads for my period but alot of people my age use tampons.......is it like ummmm..... un-cool to use pads? I just dont want to stick something in my body at my age....... i am 14........... :)

no, its not uncool, but when you get older and feel more comfortable using tampons, they are sooooo much better than pads. they take some getting used to, and kinda hurt the first time you put one in, but omg, i like them so much better than pads. they last longer, are more comfortable (you don't even feel them after you use them a couple times) and not messy like pads...
No, i have to agree with the first person; tampons aren't my favorite thing, and i don't feel comfortable sticking something in my body either.

Because you're still young, other girls will think its cool to use tampons because its something new to them. I wouldn't worry about what they think because it's your personal decision on what you want to use. It's not like they're going to know anyway, you can't tell what someone uses by looking at them.

How will anyone know, unless you go stripping at school? I dont see how anyone will find out what your using, unless you tell them.

im 17 its perfectly fine although tampons are a litle more convenient but i hate them i only use them if i absolutly have to i hate them i really do and i see nothing wrong with pads if its not broken why fix it right?

No it is not uncool to where pads. Some girls prefer pads some prefe tampons. Personally i prefer tampons as you feel a lot more clean, but sum months i prefer pads. I got my first period at 9yrs of age and i didnt where a tampon until i was 17, im only 26 so i know wat way ur feeling, bt remember if u dnt feel comfy using tampons then dont use them., AND THE SAME WITH PADS and if any of ur friends make you feellike you have to wear them IGNORE THEM OK HUN. YOU DO WHAT YOU FEEL BETTER WITH

Tampons are more popular because of (I'm taking a wild guess here) the low-rise jeans/thong for pantie lines fad.
I severely doubt if the other girls care what you use, it's nobody's business but your own what you do down there anyway.
A couple things...pads are not un-cool and nobody will know anyways unless you tell them. I'm 22 now, but like you I was scared to use tampons at first. It is a little weird the first few times, but in the end they're so worth it. You can go swimming, it doesn't feel like you're in a diaper, there's no mess or worry about leaks. In the end though, go with whatever makes you most comfortable.

I'm 19 and I actually like pads more. It's all a matter of preference. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and protected, not something because you feel like it will make you cool or because everyone else uses them.
